In line with our goal of continually improving and enhancing our relationships with customers, suppliers, employees, the community, and the environment, São Manoel invests in sustainable practices in our daily operations that have a positive impact on all these connections and generate positive outcomes. Our actions are guided by pillars such as transparency, accountability, fairness, and corporate responsibility, which encompass the definition of policies, objectives, strategies, and risk management.

The way we maintain this care for our surroundings is through the mapping and management of these connections:

  • Organizational Management: We have created a comprehensive organizational chart of the institution, allowing us to visualize the entire structure of São Manoel and the internal connections we have. This way, we see all our employees and their needs.
  • Solid Waste and Gas Emission Management: We monitor the amount of waste and gas emissions we generate, treating them in accordance with the law and setting targets to reduce waste and gas emissions.
  • Management of Natural Resource Use: Our process relies on the use of water resources, so we treat and reuse approximately 100% of the water.
  • Energy Consumption Management: We value the responsible use of energy and set goals to reduce and increase the efficiency of its use.
  • Data Management: We protect and secure the data of our customers, suppliers, and employees in accordance with the General Data Protection Law (LGPD).
  • Ethical People Management: Our Social Practices and Guidelines Policy is aligned with the company’s values, and we invest in the engagement, development, and recognition of our team.
  • Sustainable Procurement Management: São Manoel values establishing commercial relationships with suppliers that respect human rights, observe labor laws, as well as our principles and values.

It is through these management practices that we strengthen and enhance our relationships with our customers, suppliers, employees, the community, and the environment.

Action

The Continental Sustainability Award aimed to recognize and encourage projects developed by suppliers from all national divisions of the company that involved social and environmental actions.

We at São Manoel are proud to have participated in the award with the in-house project “Social Use of Future Expansion Area” and achieved third place in the social project category.

This in-house project by São Manoel, which is still in progress, aims to produce social benefits for its employees using areas that the company maintains for future expansion to generate secondary environmental gains by optimizing the use of these areas.

The project arose from dissatisfaction with the waste of resources and labor in maintaining areas for future expansion. That’s why our agricultural director decided to give a new use to the space, in a way that would return value to our employees until the time comes to expand the company and give another use to these areas.

Instead of maintaining a vast, unproductive lawn, São Manoel opted to transform the location into pastures for raising goats, cattle, and a vegetable garden to provide quality food for our employees.

The result is healthier food production for our employees, which is consumed in the company cafeteria, during events, or donated to them. It also creates an atmosphere of interaction and knowledge in the agricultural areas.
